Language and culture

Except for the present Kushtia district, the correct language pronunciation is not found in any other district of Bangladesh except Jessore district. The common people of Sadar upazila of Kushtia district have different accents in different places. The Bengali language in this upazila is very clear, unintelligible in pronunciation, melodious and easily understood by all.

Notable feature of Kushtia Sadar Upazila is its cultural contribution. Folk culture or rural culture has been nourished in many ways for a long time. In organizing various festivals, various types of songs, songs, bajna, kavigan, bhavgan, punthipath, krishaner metho gaan, jatra, circus, panchali, astakagan, padmapuran songs have always been sung. Baul songs, pala songs, arang and mela, puppet dances and dances are performed here.
