Geographical introduction

Kushtia Sadar Upazila is one of the important upazilas of Kushtia district. Kushtia Sadar Upazila has an area of ​​318.28 sq km. It is bounded on the north by Padma, Gorai and Pabna districts, on the south by Shailkupa and Harinakundu upazilas of Jhenaidah district, on the east by Kaliganga river and Kumarkhali upazila and on the west by Mirpur upazila of Kushtia district.Kushtia Sadar Upazila consists of 14 unions and one municipality. There are 16 villages and 117 mouzas. Gorai river is one of the largest rivers of Kushtia Sadar upazila. Kushtia town and Hatsh Haripur union are located on the banks of Gorai river. Another weak current of Gorai, 'Buri Gorai', flows out of the western north end of Kushtia city, separates the village of Baradi and merges with the world at Saibaria Beel.
